Salvete!
Thank you all for bearing with me today as I have been updating our membership files to reflect this year. I apologise for any inconvenience or confusion. I wanted to email you all to point out a few things that were discussed at state convention. This email will be a little lengthy, but all this information can also be found at our website: https://gaclassicalassociation.weebly.com/ Website updates Our website is relatively new in that we've been working on it this year since the old website is no longer online. You can find our website here: https://gaclassicalassociation.weebly.com/ There are a variety of pages, information, and forms on the website. If you find anything lacking or incorrect, please let me know and I will do my best to fix it quickly. Officer Nominations As we discussed at our last meeting, we have a few positions open for elections this year! We already have two nominations, but we are taking more through Sunday of this week (21 April 2019). You can find the form here. You can also find descriptions of our officers positions on this page. We will be voting via online form starting next Monday and through Sunday. I will send a follow up email with the vote link. Only members with current memberships can vote. Constitution, past votes, and other documents The question was raised at state convention about transparency and access to previous notes and files. I want to assure everyone that I am working very hard to obtain these documents. Right now, I have access to a paper copy of a 1985 constitution type file. It is quite big and will take some time to load into the website, but that should be up by the end of next week. We are also in the process of collecting files from former officers. You will be able to access meeting minutes at this page. You will be able to access past vote information on this page. And... you will be able to access the constitution and other similar documents on this page. If you have any documents that you think might be helpful, please feel free to send them to me in reply to this email. It is our goal to be as transparent and up to date as possible. Upcoming Events and Meetings As was announced at state convention, we are asking that you save the date for 2 November 2019. We are hoping to offer a special workshop that day with the wonderful Justin Slocum Bailey! You can find out more about him here. In the 2019-2020 school year, we will offer, in addition, our three regularly scheduled meetings. I have already put these dates up on our calendar (linked here) and below: 1. Fall Forum Meeting - Date TBD; location Wheeler High School (I believe) 2. FLAG Meeting - Date 6-7 March 2020; location Atlanta 3. State Convention meeting - Date 17-19 April 2020; location Rock Eagle Closing Thank you all for bearing with me through this email. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. A copy of this email is saved under past minutes as record of our state convention meeting.
